SAVANNAH – Alma P. Stanley died Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Azalealand Nursing Home.
A native of Newton Grove, NC, Mrs. Stanley had lived in Savannah for most of her life. She was a member of Coastal Cathedral and was retired from the Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jacob Stanley.
Surviving are her children, John J. Stanley of Savannah and Margaret Ann Stanley of Hempstead, NY; her grandson, John J. "Trey" Stanley III of Alpharetta, GA; brothers and sisters, Jesse Parson, James Parson, Margaret King, and Edna Smith, all of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.
Remembrances may be made to Costal Cathedral, 8511 Waters Ave., Savannah, GA 31406.
We were so sorry to here about your mother's passing. Please know that our prayers are with you during this time. When I told Madison about your mother, she said Papa was going to take me to see her. I told her she would just have to see her in heaven. We love you and I know this is going to be for the better. She will not suffer any longer.
